If she's say "I need some space", or "wanted some quite time" - fine by me, we all need that some time. But there are many other situations where the group conversation makes you feel like an outsider and excluded. I felt that myself as a foreigner, almost every time someone talks about baseball :) I don't expect people to always cater to others or everyone. I expect awareness and diversity of conversation topics that can help everyone feel included.
